The book The Identification of British 20th Century Bronze Coin Varieties gives a note about a minor variety where the date has been doubled up. I have looked though my 1967 Pennies and have managed to find an example.

Looking at the 1 you can clear see the doubling. The 9 shows the same doubling.
The 6 shows the doubling and it is present on the 7 but is less visible.
