1945 Double Date

No prizes for guessing which digit is doubled.

It’s not often that a proper doubled date comes along. Most examples where doubling is present will be machine doubling, but not in this case. This is the 1945 Penny (UK) with the doubled 9, a known variety. There are even examples where the doubling is also doubled (Coin Monthly April 1977).
