Welcome to Matts Coin blog.
I have been collecting coins for around 30 years. Initially the collection was slow to grow and consisted of a number of pre-decimal coins and notes as well as some world coins.
With the advent of ebay, the collection really started to take off with the main focus being on pre decimal coins.
As of 11/01/2021 the main documented collection* comprises of:
- 834 coins
- of 347 types
- from 51 countries
This is broken down into:
- UK pre decimal [393 coins]
- UK Decimal [89 coins]
- Rest of world [353 coins]
*Note: a substantial number of coins are not in the documented collection pending a forensic search of each coin (excluding world coins) looking for major and minor variants, of which there are a large number.
